• Both Mei and Emily immediately looked over at me and, for a moment at least, I wanted to crawl into a hole. To my surprise, though, Emily seemed unphased. She just smiled and said, "I'm honestly surprised it took so long, given all the stimulus he's surrounded by right now."
• Mei also smiled, "I've definitely seen a few of those in my time, but it's been quite a while." She turned to Emily, "it took me a little longer than her to figure out I was a lesbian." Then she turned to me and said, "I've gotta say, Jake, that's the best one of those I've seen, hands down."
• I'm sure I was beet red in the face by that point, but I was also still pretty drunk and high, which helped to mitigate the embarrassment significantly. As did Mei's compliment and the fact that Emily didn't seem to mind at all.
